My 97 Honda CRV indicates it is overheating when I put the heater on to half or more setting. If I run the heater between low to medium setting the car runs with no problem. If I turn off the heater or lower it between med and low the temperature starts going back down to normal. I just got timing belt, water pump, and all the reset belts changed. I took the car back to the mechanic to see if the thermostat is bad or going bad. He said it is fine. He says he has not been able to duplicate the issue. The car went back to the shop 3 times each time they were not able to duplicate the issue.
