My 96 Honda Accord is having trouble starting...?

I turn the key and nothing happens. There is no sound, nothing at all. This doesn't happen all the time mind you. Sometimes it starts up fine. I really don't know what the deal is. Is it the starter? That's my best guess but I know pretty much nothing about cars. Thanks!

I have seen a battery terminal so corroded, that it ate the connector in 2 pieces. Make sure that all of your battery connections are tight and clean, also check the connections to your starter. Perhaps they just need to be tightened. Make sure the cable has not been damaged. If all of these look good, then the starter solenoid is probably going out.

it can be try hitting it and then try to start it. my 92 accord did the same thing but now i think its the fuel pump since fuel isnt being injected.

If its intermittent, it could just be a bad or dirty battery connection or the starter solenoid is going out. check out the battery and ground connections first.

Take an old rag, one that you are willing to throw away and a 20 oz bottle of Coke. Remove the wires from the battery terminals and douse all four with the soda. Let it sit for a few seconds and then give them all a good once-over with the rag. Then throw the rag away, its ruined. Re-attach the cables. It that doesn't work then your problem is a little more serious.
