Hi I have a 1994 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor. About a week ago i left my car on in the driveway for about 30 seconds and when I came back out, it was off with the headlights still on. When I attempted to restart the car, it did not want to do so so I checked my oil level and battery.
My oil was low so I filled it with two quarts. My battery was nearly dead as well so I had it replaced and bought new cables along with it. Now I have not replaced the battery cables yet since I couldn't find where the Negative wire was connected on the engine block (the Positive was easily found on the Starter).
When I attempted to crank the car over, I did hear a slight knocking sound coming from the engine. My car still won't start though. ANY suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks =D !!!
Its a brand new battery that I put in when the car wouldn't work. There is no clicking, but rather a slight knocking sound that originates in the engine when I attempt to crank it. I can hear the engine try to start but it seems like it doesn't want to catch.
