I have a 1993 Honda Civic DX. Its all stock so it has like no power at all but I would like to add as much to it without spending the money for an engine swap since i dont have enough money. The first thing I'd like to do is air intake but i read somewhere that cold air was for more power at higher rpms and ram air was for lower to mid. I'm not sure if its true or not but basically i just want to know what type or air intake would give me the most power. If you know of a specific part I'd love to know. Thanks

Go with the COLD AIR INTAKE as the civic engine is designed to run better when cooler. add a trans oil cooler to the transmission lines. and STP additives to the cooling system. this will aid bth engine performance and protect the engines vital components

what you said is true. cold air intakes add more power, but short ram intakes give you more power off the line, but less overall.

I have a 95 civic and I have a short ram intake. the difference is only a few hp, and civics need the power to get it moving before the vtec has a chance to kick in.

For a cheap, but good intake browse eBay. You do not need a name brand air intake, its just piping and a filter. I got mine for $30 shipped.
