My 92 caprice is overheating and radiator fluid is coming from the plastic overflow tank.?

I replaced the thermostat, flushed the radiator... it still overheated, so i removed the thermostat altogether. The engine water hose gets really hard like there is no water flowing. It is still overheating. The water pump is not leaking. There is no white smoke from the exhaust. What else can it be? Thanks
