My 8 week old puppy won't stop whining at night, please help?

i've had mollie for 3 days now, and she's fine during the day but come late at night and she is whining really loudly.

I've tried tapping her crate, placing toys, a blanket over the top but she just continues to whine getting louder and louder.

She is in her crate at night only at the bottom of my bed, the person who I got her off hasn't had her wormed or any of her injections done and was also feeding her adult food of which i'm trying to wean her off.

But any suggestions on how to stop the whining as it's driving me mad!!!
thanks for all the advice atm she is sleeping with my clock under a blanket. 2 hours asleep and counting, also atm she seems to wake up at 3am every morning and we take her outside, as for sleeping in my bed - no chance! as for vets shes going next week, i wouldnt say shes scared of dark but she seems to be scared of being locked in.
 
Well since he is 8 weeks get him in to the vet soon so he can be vaccinated and wormed.

As for whining it will be a battle of wills. You need to just completely ignore the whining. If you talk to her, tap her crate, or let her out you are reinforcing the whining. You need to completely ignore her. If you do not give in she will learn but it may take a few nights. If you give in at all you will only make her cry more. Keep in mind the first night she might cry a really long time, but if you are strong it will get shorter and shorter.
 
I have three dogs and they all did that when they were that young and i fed them warm milk and wrapped a blanket around them and gave them passifiers to suck on!! im not joking around it really works!

How would you like to be ripped from the only family you know and be put in a strange place where you don't know anyone or anything. Well this is what happened to poor little Mollie. Give her time place a wind up clock in with her under her blankets so she thinks it is her Mom's heart beat.

she will need to be wormed again when in a months time. then every month you need to worm her, till she is 6 months old.

After you worm her when she is 6 months old you count 3 months and worm her again. You must worm her every 3 months all through her entire life.

You should be taking her out every 2 hours to pee during the day. and also at night, then put her back in her crate. She is the equivalent of a new born baby. she has just been taken from her litter mates and mother. she does not know you.. and is not used to your home.

You will have to give her a few weeks to settle in and get used to you.
 
im definitely not an expert - we only got our first puppy (10 weeks old) 2 weeks ago, but I can tell you what worked well for us. First of all we made sure to put her in her crate even when it wasn't night time. We put a nice blanket in there and a couple of treats and closed the door to help her get acclimated. The first couple of days we had her, she was in the crate pretty much any time she wasn't out front trying to go to the bathroom. When she started whinning we let her out took her to the street and if she didn't do her business, we put her back in her crate. Every time we put her back in the crate we put a couple of puppy milk bones in there so that she associated it with a reward. Within the first week, she was crate trained. At night time, I do the same thing. When she whines I let her out front to do her business, and when she is done, it's right back into the crate.
The key is consistency (like all other dog related things), and reward (always have treats for her).

good luck! I know it's hard not to succumb to their whinning but it will help her learn.
 
She's just a baby and she's still adjusting to a very different environment. Are you letting her out enough during the night to potty?

I found that feeding my puppy a mixture of scrambled eggs and butter noodles right before bedtime gave him enough fat to keep him satisfied and happily sleeping through the night. You might want to try that.
 
Put her where she can see you. That should comfort her.
It could be the crate itself that is making her whine. Some dogs just really hate crates.
Make sure you let her out right before you go to bed to make sure she doesn't have to pee.

Some Puppies have detachment issues or as funny as it some afraid of the dark. Are you against having it sleep with you. That's what we did and as it got older it felt more comfortable on the floor. Sometimes they will sleep next to you to feel ur heartbeat. its soothing to them.
 
You just have to let her whine...basically.

In time she will stop. But for now, you have to deal with it. As annoying as it is, its something that some puppies do
 
Well you will have to listen to the whining until it stops!
Be patient and put a shirt you wore in there with the puppy... your smell will calm her down!

Also there are stuffed animals out there which simulate a heartbeat!
It helps puppy's think they are still with there mom!

Make sure she has enough fat so she wont be hungry and play with her so she is wore out :)
But make sure after dinner the dog has 2 hours to rest! Or the stomach can turn!!

they do that alot when they are puppys over night you need stay with them until they machure and do not do this any more or call your vet,petco,the breeder you got him from or the pound
