My son has asthma that flares up when he gets a cold. Last fall, he seemed to be coughing a lot and always sounded congested, so we used pulmicort every night as maintenance. It kept him very healthy all winter long.
Now, spring is here and I have taken him off the pulmicort and started giving him Zyrtec. (I suspect he has allergies). I noticed his chest sounRAB congested and his voice is raspy again. Not much of a cough - yet!
I probably should make an appointment with an allergist since we have just seen our primary up to now.
My question is if anyone has had their toddler on daily doses of pulicmort? There are some side effects, but my ped told me most are mild. Can anyone share their experiences? I am kind of concerned about using pulmicort on a daily basis, but am afraid we may not have a choice.
