First speeds 1 and 2 went out, now speed 3 went out too, so now alls I have is speed 4. How can I fix it myself? I can't afford a costly repair bill! Thank you!

The lower fan speeds are controlled by the dash fan switch and also what's called a "blower resistor" mounted in the heater ductwork....depending on your skill level and where the resistor is located, it may be fairly easy to replace either one or both...you can use a testlight or multimeter to test for power coming into and going out of the fan switch and the resistor to see if they are bad.. A good shop manual would help show how to proceed with the repairs...Autozone.com has some free repair info close to what a shop manual would have but you have to register for free first...most parts stores carry Chilton or Haynes manuals for around 25.00...some libraries do also...or you can gain access to factory service manuals at Eautorepair.net or Alldata.com...small fee.

Your temperature control module is out. When it goes out the energy will flow sraight through it directly to the blower motor causing it to seem like only high speed is working. Maybe even be blowing a little harder than high usually would.

It's called a resitor switch. Go to autozone or your local parts store and ask if they got one. Usually between 20-100 bucks. Sometimes its easy and sometimes its really deep and hard. Get a manual on your car while your there.
