My wife drives a 2006 Dodge Magnum. For the past few weeks it has died on her while driving through parking lots and such. I hooked my scanner up to it and no trouble codes (DTC's) are present and the MIL is not on. One thing that I just noticed today is that it is only shutting off when she is going at low speeds and when she turns left or right. To all you mechanic out there. Is it possible that the gear or some type of bearing is going out in the power steering pump and the added stress of turning is causing it to temporarily lock up, thus making the engine shut off since the serpentine belt is connect to the crankshaft pulley. It's the only thing I can think of since there is nothing wrong with the OBD 2 system and it's only happening when she turns at low speeds. It has never done it on the highway and you do not have to make sharp turns at such a highspeeds. Let me now what you think. Thanks in advance.
