Driving my car the last 2 days the heat doesnt work and after about 5 minutes on the road the temp gauge goes all the way to high. After about 5 more minutes it will dip down to a reasonable temp and the heat will work for about 2 minutes. Also, there is a clicking noise that seems to be coming from right near my glove compartment. Heat doesnt work at all till the temp goes up and then down again. Also coolant is low. What is wrong?

HI
fill the coolant up... with the motor cold take the cap off the radiator its self. The coolant should be to the top or with in 1" of the top.
When the coolant is low the water pump can NOT move enough water to push it into the heating system so there for no heat. Fill up the radiator and check for leaks..
good luck

I can't tell what is wrong but I can tell you it is most like just one of two things and neither are expensive. Could be your thermostat and could be your heater coil/valve. Most likely one of these two are not working correctly.
