My 2002 Chevrolet only starts when it is cold. Help!!!?

I have a2002 chev impala 3.4l When it is cold outside, in the morning, it starts. If I let it sit in the sun, it won't start. It cranks over but won't start.
When it wouldn,t start while sitting in the sun, I sprayed starting fluid and it ran for a few seconds. I went back the next day early in the morning when it was in the 40's and it started. What in the world could this be?
 
I would clean the air butterfly with carb. cleaner first and check the air cleaner filter to see if clean.you need three things fuel, air , spark.
