MY 2001 Yamaha banshee has a knock in the engine. Why would this occur?

I rode a few times beofre it started knocking. I didn't ride it aggresively. It was fine but all the sudden it's knocking and won't idle and excessive smoke is coming out the exaust? I'm need some advice!
 
knocking? never heard of that happening before... is the smoke comming out the right side exhaust pipe? feel it, if its cold and not hot then the crank seal is bad and its pulling you tranny oil in threw the seal.
