I own a 2001 Pontiac Grand Am SE 4 Cylinder 2.4L. In late July I had a problem starting my car and so a mechanic friend of mine and I sprayed carburetor cleaner into the front of the fuel pipe and poured in some gas and then it worked fine until early september. Then, it wouldn't start again so I tried the above method and it worked at first, then my lights started dimming so I took it to a mechanic and they told me to get my battery replaced, so I did. So, now I have a new battery and I've tried my old method and nothing is working! My car cranks, starts to come on, but then goes back to cranking. What's wrong with it?
