backwards? It has an automatic transmission. When in drive or reverse, the car won't move (it feels like the car is in neutral). Only the engine revs when I pressed the gas pedal. What could be the problem?

check ur fluid to start with....if its good then check ur shift cables....but more than likely ur trans is gone....

if the fluid is low or not registering...fill it and then find the leak.....

Check your transmission fluid level.

If the speedometer goes up when you rev it (with a forward gear selected) then you may have a broken driveshaft or differential.

remove your drive shaft, and start vehicle be careful no one around when starting car. check transmission fluid. if nothing happen could be transmission how does the transmission smell if it smell burn tou might need transmission repair. good luck
