hi - if there is damage to the radiator then i would get that replaced first. the car is probably loosing coolant due to the damage to the radiator hence your overheating. having the fans working or not will make no difference if you have a leak. replace the rad first then look at the fans - the fans won't run all the time, only when the coolant reaches a specified temp.

i don't no much about this, but i owned a 1992 plymouth acclaim and i had to get a wire (( like wire that u use when you put in a cd player in your car )) and i cut some plastic off were the fan wire is running to the fan (( look for the wires that controls the fan )) and i put the end of the wire onto the fan wire, then on the other end i put it on the black battery cable and it worked, i couldn't afford to fix it at the time, but good luck!

First it depends how the fan works, sometimes they have a belt and run continuously, Next it may run electrically and will be temperature controlled, or the really posh cars have a system where wax needs to melt to run the fan.
Temporally there are a couple of things you can do (1) put the heating on inside the car at full heat and blowing hot air at max , you might have to drive with windows open but this will defiantly bring the heat down in the engine. (2) Take the thermostat out and run it without one,so it is cooling all the time not when the thermostat thinks in should.
I used to have a Hillman Imp (WHAT) you say, this was a small English car with the engine in (how you say it ) , the trunk, we call it the boot. It was a water cooled engine. You could change your car to a VW BEATLE, they have their engines in the trunk and they are not water cooled.
I used to do all these tricks when I was young but now I drive a BENTLEY, NO MORE PROBLEMS..........................

the fans werent spinning? I was told that the fans are run electric so does this mean my fan motor is out or is there a fuse that went out. also the smoke coming from the Radiator is coming through a crack on top of the Radiator the car is an automatic. one mechanic said that i need a new radiator but would that stop my fans from working? thanks for the help in advance.

somewhere along the line the fans arent working wether its the fase or a fuse check fuses first then chanve out the fan motors

You have two separate problems... although the crack may have been caused by the fact that the fan isn't working...

the fan problem is most-likely caused by a bad fan temperature switch... and the radiator may or may not be repairable by a radiator shop...
The temp switch will be in the bottom of the radiator, follow wires from the fan....

You need to get this fixed pronto, as Hondas are bad to crack heads from overheating.....

there is a fuse for your fans however if it has blown there is always a reason why , your fan motor could have seized or shorted out , replace the radiator as your mechanic suggested then he will check out the fans a bad cooling system could ruin your motor so it,s best to get it sorted
