my 1998 honda civic electrical problem?

i have a 98 honda civic ex i started my car for a couple of minute then shout it of try to start it about 2 minutes later didn't start no power whats so ever dash board light up and when i try to start it' it completely went dead battery is brand new check it with a tester still have its voltage 12.35 to be exact the fuses are good what can be the problem
