My 1997 Mercury Mountaineer 5.0 uses about 2 quarts of oil between changes?

this is normal if your motor don't use any oil at all then there is something wrong
 
is there any products I can use to stop or slow this down?I never noticed any leaks

2 qt is excessive.One of 2 things is happening. Its leaking or being burned.Park your car and immediately put newspapers under the engine.Leave it for a of hours then move the car without moving the papers. If there's oil stains on the paper you have a leak or leaks. Make a note of where the leak is-front,rear or side. If the paper is clean you are burning oil. This is never a good thing. I'd get rid of the car or be ready for costly repairs.

If its a leak go to an auto parts store and ask for stopleak or something similar. Again,I'd get rid of the vehicle soon.Leaks are cheaper to fix than burning oil.You can have the leak fixed but it will probably not be cheap.
 
Depending on the mileage, this sounds o.k. The oil is there because it is supposed to be used.
