whistles, what do i do? for the last two days when i start my car up the rpms shoot up to about 2,000 rpms and back down to about 1,500 and i don't know what to do about it and it was whistling when i started it up but my step dad looked at it and now it doesn't anymore i don't know whats wrong can someone help me out. my step dad also thinks it could be my head gasket but i don't know.
how much would it cost to go and get the hose fixed because i do not have the time to do it at this moment and i really need my car. and if i got the hose fixed would it stop my rpms from going up and down while it is in park??

Sounds like the gasket between the idle air control valve and throttle body is leaking. The dealer parts department can order that gasket separately from the idle air control valve but at a parts store you will likely have to buy the entire idle air control valve assembly to get the gasket. I suggest you try to tighten the screws which secures the idle air control valve to the throttle body and then smear some high temp RTV silicone around the gasket joint. That will temporarily stop the vacuum leak and if the idle air control valve is otherwise working normally your engine idle will return to normal rpm operation and you will not need to purchase the entire idle air control valve... just the gasket.
