M Mazda man New member Oct 12, 2009 #2 At idle it should be 700 RPM...it is little high but not much as v6, 2.5L run at high RPM. It feels like a 6th gear is needed. Your vehicle should run at 3000RPM when driving at 63.9 miles per hour, and 3500 RPM at 74.6 M/Hr. Good luck
