My 1994 Ford Ranger Splash has an oil leak in it. Anybody know common problems?

It's been there for quite some time, and I usually just need to put a half quart to a quart of oil in every time i fill up. I was told that it's not a major problem but because of where it is at it's more of a pain than its worth, does anybody have ideas on what it could be, how much it would cost to fix and approx. time needed to fix it?

will any oil leak is not good, it takes away from protection of lifters and crank bearings. Depending on where the leak is. and also who will be doing the rapairs. as well as would you be providing the parts and paying someone for the labour. for example if the oil pan gasket is leaking then you will spend between 450$ to as much as 1000.00$ because of where it isand what would neede to be done to remove and replace. But if the valvecover gasket mabey only 150 to 300 depending. One old trick to help this problem is buy a bottle of Lucas egnine oil treatment, do a oil change leave it a quart low so to add the lucas which will help for awhile in slowing down the leak. Fire stone offers a chk out for 20$ to chk it nd see how bad and how soon it should repaired, I hope this is somekind of help for you
