My 1993 Ford F150 won't start. Ideas?

I have a truck F150 and its been working fine. I stopped using it for a couple of months and when I used to turn the key it took 1-2 seconds before you could actually hear the engine start turning or do anything. This delay time between turning the key and the truck actually doing anything has been increasing progressively until now and now it wont start at all.
Alternator was new, battery is fine (also tried jump start it but nothing) and it has half tank of gas.
Any ideas what could I do before I call the tow truck?

Thanx a lot!
The noise is just a CLICK somewhere in the motor. Battery works fine, I have electric and connections to battery are fine.

You have to describe what noise it makes when you try to start it. if it doesn't even try to start then make sure you shift lever is in park and that your battery doesn't have a loose connection.

Check your plugs and points. Clean inside your distributor, Check your coil is working

go charge the battery. even a good battery will lose it's charge over time, did you try to jump start it? if the engine won't turn over or turns over slow it is a battery problem usually.
