My 1988 honda crx jerks and sounds like it wants to turn off when i accerlate why?

it gives me code 7 then a pause and then it blinks 16 times which i guess it code 16. i need help?
I think its the THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR what about you gearheads? thanks in advance
