My 1985 toyota 4x4 will not start. It turns over fine. How can you tell if the

timing chain is broke.? I just had the motor rebuilt. If it is the timing chain this will be twice it has broken

check the rotor. if it don,t turn when you crank it then it,s broke.

You did not state what size motor the 3.0 V-6 is a timing belt motor? Bad Luck.

shoul dbe a timing mark on lower front pulley you bump motr or turn by hand til marke lines up then check inside distubor and see where rotor button is pointing should be to number one plug or rent a timing light an dlook at mark has someone cranks over motor
