Retard the timing a little to decrease engine heat.
Shifting will be more difficult on older machines as the clutch basket will not allow smooth separation of clutch plates due to wear on clutch basket fingers.
Shift detente cam may be worn and may need to be replaced and/or detente neutral plunger may be worn down.(may need a new one).
