...boys. that it's no big deal.? she says that being bi doesn't mean anything and that what it means to me as an adult is not what her generation calls it. she is not interested in having sex, just hanging out!! should i be concerned or just ride it out?

You probably already made a big deal about her bisexuality and now your daughter is too scared to tell you she is sexually active which I bet she is. I am 20 yrs old and although I'm not bi it is something that people of my age tell their parents so they will not freak out

Being bisexual is still a big deal and her taking it so lightly shows that its not an emotional thing for her but more sexual...

She just doesnt want you to know, sry. Maybe you should try being less judgemental and she would open up to you more.

I guess it is normal to be concerned...But you shouldn't make a big deal out of it, because if you do, then she might just turn a little rebellious and go even further being a bisexual. No child likes to be "rejected"( as this how she will take it if you do make a big deal out of it).
Now that you are aware of her choice in life ( just hope that she won't keep that choice for too long, and that she will grow out of it...This does not come from her, its influence from TV and the people around her...the environment she lives in) Just ride it out for now, and she probably will forget about it

She's still growing up, her sexuality isn't fully developed yet. She may grow up to be completely straight - or completely gay!

It's nothing to be concerned about at all. Even if she turns out gay you should always support her choices and never make her feel ashamed of herself. You should also feel really happy that she has opened up to you like this :) You must have a close relationship for her to be able to tell you something so personal, and potentially embarrassing!

Oh and your daughter is right - its totally common for girls to kiss girls these days, even when they're not bi. And the majority of girls that fool around with other girls (i.e. kiss and feel each other up a bit) would probably never dream of actually having sex with another girl!

For some reason, this is big with a lot of young girls. She is very likely just following the crowd- and what society for some reason say is sexy.

The good part is- she is only 17, and a huge part of being that age is doing whatever you can to shock the folks!

However- even if she is bi- who cares? She is still your daughter & you would still love her, right? Do you really want to picture what she would potentially do in a romantic situation- guy or girl? Certainly not;)

Good luck;)

My daughter told me the same thing around 15 yrs old, I told my pastor of our church, He ask if she would speak to him, I took her and he interduced her to jesus, She is 24 yrs old now, And has told me if it was not for what the lord says about sex and marriage in the bible, she would have been with a woman today. Now she is a youth pastor in the same church , single, with a boyfriend, has a great job, She is o.k. But if she did go gay, I would love her anyway. She is still my child.

If she's never had sex then she is not bi sexual. Right now she is a-sexual because she hasn't had enough experience with sexual relationships to know what she is. I think you need to have a talk with her about sexuality and what it means because she certainly doesn't have a clue.
