for it how long till it comes? my 10 month old outdoor cat ran outside when it was dark out and i tried looking for it how long till he comes back? and what are some tricks that would help being him back. i heard putting tuna outside would help

My cat Goes out side, and gets back at like 10 o'clock, right before i go to class. So don't worry. I red on a Website, that cats know boundaries, and only go where they know it's safe, unlike dogs. but if its been gone for like a week, I would start to worry.

your cat will come home when hes ready it can take a week or three days they may smell a female in heat and ways to see the outside and to make and mark the area do worry

Do not put the tuna outside but make a noise like you are preparing food for him. Also keep calling him and leave door ajar if you can.

it probably wont... it probably went to some other house where they get to be an indoor cat

Is your cat micro-chipped? I really can't say when the cat will come home, but a microchip would mean that it will be returned to you when it's found. If it's not micro-chipped, I suggest you get that done as soon as you get it back. There have been cases of cats (and other animals) going missing for years. Even after all that time, a micro-chipped animal can always be returned to its owner.

Make sure your cat can get inside when it comes back - if it has found another family then it may leave again if there's no one home. I hope you get your cat back...

When he feels like it, I'm afraid - and I'm aware that's not really the nicest answer to hear. I know it's scary - mine have put me through several scares but usually they come back when they're hungry.

It could well be that a female nearby - or several - are on heat and so he's gone off to have some "fun". I would wait for 5 days - hard though I know that is, and then consider phoning vets, putting posters up, etc.

Don't put food out as you'll only get stray animals rocking up to your back door :-) Keep calling his name - when one of mine went missing, I asked as many neighbours as I could if they'd seen her, they can be a valuable resource of information.

Best of luck. I'm afraid they do this and some come back, some don't. That's the burden of being an owner - the worry! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you :-)
