My 06 chevy cobalt reads 0 mph and wont shift out of first gear. help!?

while i was driving my car, i figured out my car was reading 0 MPH and the transmission wasn't shifting out of first. i changed the transmission speed sensor outpit but its still the same. I wil be driving far soon.thank you in advance.even if you are not sure leave your thoughts .pleez! and thanks
