My 03 Dodge 2500 CTD started having a REALLY rough idle, my whole truck

started shimming and shaking and it is? running like crap. It is completely gutless. I have a feeling its a fuel problem but because I don't know much about diesels like I go gas cars, I'm a little lost. The turbo is still humming.-- started doing this out of nowhere, it didn't have any issues and then all of a sudden it started running like shit!
 
Check the wire coming off the A/C compressor going to the Sender it is the 1 with light tape not in the harness oil gets on it when the filter is changed it lays on the aluminum compressor pipe and rubs the wire and shorts out split a 3/8 hose and slid over the wires. It make the truck miss at idle to stalling out. I just did mine as it was missing at idle on & off. Also check the fuel filter and drain the water separator Add some Diesel fuel boost and cleaner. Drain & Fill the filter with straight additive and start let idle for 5 minute let sit over night if possible. Then drive and run it threw the gears. all out.See if that helps.Bad fuel will do this also. Stay away from non truck stops as there fuel can go bad.
 
45 gave you a good answer on this one,along with that you might want to do a pressure test on the fuel system also,and be sure you drain the water separator,the symptoms your having can be caused by simply bad fuel,good luck.
