MV^2=E and grain weights of bullet (165g and 180g).?

To just clarify what I got from an earlier posting. 165g bullet have a larger velocity due to Newtons equation MV^2=E. I can understand that; however, by using this equation, it seems as though the energy must be equal between both of these rounds, the only difference is that the lighter mass will have more velocity and the larger mass will have less velocity but the total E will be equal between both rounds. Is that true?
