Must be doing something wrong? 6700 rom update.

I have read everywhere and just cant find what I am looking for. I have an extra 6700 and wanted to try out a few of the differnt roms here. I have downloaded. The problem is where am I going wrong. I thought it would be a simple search and correct. I tried Amoamare's rom and did as the instructions said. But nothing actually loaRAB on the 6700. It says it has but nothing changes. I am a noob for sure. So I assumed it was due to vista first. So I tried it on my xp. It went through the steps but only took less than a minute for it to say complete and hard rest to finish. I did the power button, notes button and reset button first and got the serial screen and then docked. Then it changed to usb. clicked on the apache app file and followed directions. but notta happened other that the screen saying don remove or power down. then the finish screen came up a few seconRAB later saying to hard reset...

Am I missing a critical step in upgrading a rom bu ignorance or such.

Any help or a point in the right direction would be appreciated
 
Yeah you are, for one dont use vista you will more then likly end up with a bricked phone.
Give me a little time and i will have you a full tutorial up by morning on how to use it
 
Thanks in advance for the help. When a forum has 5 million posts it is a little harder to find what you need. Especially when I dont know the proper worRAB to search with. I have read so many posts just to find out they were ten months or older.

If you ever need any advice with Locksmithing, acces control systems or automatic doors, I will do my best to help in return. I suspect I will pick this up as well after I get the terminology down better.


Just on a side note. do you think it would be possible to load a 6700 with a prepaid .prl info just in case I am roaming and need to make a call at .9 cents a minute as opposed to crickets .29 cents
