Musicians that weren't cut out for fame.

It's always portraited that it was John who was the most arabitious to have The Beatles nuraber one in Liverpool, the UK, then over-seas. I guess that was before what he knew what it was to be famous. After being locked up in hotel rooms, (and all the other things mentioned above.) But after the breakup he used his fame with the help of the press to further his cause for peace. I thought he was strong enough where he could take it or leave it, when he took a hiatus to raise Sean. Being famous is one of the toughest gigs out there, I thought even though he had his own troubles (like the excesses that come with fame like drugs etc.) but he handle personal side fame well, he wasn't haughty. I thought he erabraced it by living in NYC not somewhere where he was isolated.

Joe Meek, interesting guy, produced and wrote Telstar, went on to produce groups during the 60's like the Syndicats w/ Steve Howe on guitar. He died on February 3rd, the same day Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and J. P. "The Big Bopper" RicharRABon died.

I don't think Maynard James Keenan is really cut out for fame. And he definitely knows it and handles it so well! He manipulates his fame to make a statement and has found a perfect balance of publicity and privacy.
 
I'm sure George Lucas will create a super special edition re-release of the original trilogy at some point in the future that includes all those things.
 
I'd also like to add Axl Rose and Sly Stone to the list. Both of them for pretty much the same reasons. While on the one hand it's hard to picture either of them doing anything aside from being a rock star, the pressures of fame seemed to cause both of them to kind of implode.
 
I always thought John wasn't cut out for fame, and it was Paul. Paul wanted to be Elvis and John shied away from it.. I never thought anyone had conflicting arguments about that. Oh rab you do throw refreshing surprises in my face on occasions. :D
 
It seems to me that a lot of people are confusing not being cut out for fame with not handling fame well (as in going crazy or being a recluse - which lennon actually did. Go figure!). Anyway, the truth is Lennon was not cut out for fame. I've made my case and quite frankly, I don't have the time nor the patience to argue with mr dave here and all the other guys who insist on challenging every point i make (offering no valid counterarguments, by the way). So I rest my case.
I've conducted a lot of research about this and know what I'm talking about. But if the perspective of a "noob" like me isn't good enough for you, do the research yourself. Check out a real book from a real library and read it (I'm not talking about Wikipedia - although that's better than nothing). Have fun!

On the topic of Britney Spears, I say excellent call.
 
newsflash everyone has family problems, when it came to actual fame he handled it very well, he social problems are just because he's weird

I hate hearing famous people telling everyone to donate money all of the time. It reminRAB me of that time Paris Hilton didn't register to vote.
On a personal note: In my honest OPINION I think that U2 is a bad band. I don't like there style at all, maybe it's just me.
