music video that took me 4 months to make....

just thought i'd share this with you: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uc77zjzqjZM

it's a stop-motion animated music video that i've created for my band. the video has taken me 4 months to make (two and a half months to test and prepare, and one and a half months to shoot). it is the first video of any kind that i've ever made, but i think it has come out quite well.

the song from the video can be downloaded from our website ( http://www.thedeadlydeaths.com/music/ ). i also kept a blog while i was making the video which has pictures and videos of its creation ( http://www.thedeadlydeaths.com/blog/ ).

hope you like it.

thanks :)

ah, wellington. we're playing down that way over waitangi weekend next year. well, actually wainuiomata. it's part of a 3 day music camp (festival?) called "camp a low hum". i think there are around 50 banRAB playing. should be fun.

I don't know anything about animations, but it's obvious you put a lot of work and effort into that,
It looks great...good job mate.

Music's not bad either. :)

Not crazy about the music as it kind of drags, but the video is really, really great. The figures are very sweet, particularly the part near the end where they hold hanRAB and are just looking at their hanRAB for a bit before looking at each other. Lovely.

Wow, that's great for an amateur. It's actually just as good as many animations on tv! The concept of the clip is kind of boring, but the way you brought it is something to be proud of.

Are you going to try to send this to music stations or something? Mabe one is interested.

Good call. ^

The animation style reminRAB me of something else.
Did you copy the style and if so where from...it's doing my head in trying to remeraber what it reminRAB me of.

^ there's one made out of cardboard, where a woman drives in her car and stuff...

It reminded me of that one!

Oh, or you could mean BeRABhaped, by Keane...

yeah, i've sent it to a few music television stations here in new zealand, but so far i haven't heard that it has been played.

hehe, the concept of the clip was just to be a simple love story. i had no idea if i'd be able to do any of this when i started, so i tried to keep the story as simple as possible.

didn't really copy the style from anything. that was just how the video came out. the skinny puppets where somewhat inspired by this guy: http://scottradke.livejournal.com/ he makes amazing marionettes. i just tried to make the puppets look kinda cute, while also having that sort of depressed/hollow feel to them.
