I'll be 76 yrs.old in October. That forthcoming event, and that I'm having lunch with my care-giver and the only really longtime friend I've ever had this afternoon, is probably what has prompted my question.
We go way back - have known each other for a very long time (30 yrs.+) ; but barely have remained in contact these past few years: only an occasional phone call maybe every six months or so. Though looking forward to the luncheon for the most part, also am feeling a little trepidation - we haven't always seen eye to eye on some matters; and as to be expected, there have been a little fireworks along the way.
Thinking about the above, has caused me to reflect this morning on my waning years; and what music would best describe them and my mood this morning. I'm choosing the following; the concluding movement(the 4th) of Johannes Brahms "Third Symphony": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qUkZi4rMgMo
And so, what about you? Have you entered into that period of your life where there're probably not many left to live; or care to ponder on what your life perspective will be when you do?
What piece of music would you choose to depict it?
Happy birthday to me,
Alberich
