Music problem, new songs don't show up

Hello people, I'm having a strange problem with the phone, it's a Motorola Milestone.

The problem is that the Music player keep showing always the same songs, even tough I deleted them or added new ones.. so if I try to play a song already deleted its says that the player don't support it.. and if I add new songs they don't even appear, so I can't play them (I can open them with Astro and play one by one.. but they don't show up in the player)

I assume that the problem has something to do with the search function of the phone.. or something like that, anyone have a clue, solution, suggestion or anything?

It's really annoying, now I can only play the first songs I added when I bought it.

Just to mention, I already tried adding songs in different folders, renaming them, downloading another player, etc.. and nothing worked.

Thx a lot!

I add my music mostly over my wifi with some FTP; I have other things in my front panel USB ports and it just proves a hassle switching things around. I've run into the same problem. Meridian is a music player that comes with its own file browser, and this sort of helps, because once you play a song found via the fbrowser, the library will recognize it. But only that song, not the rest of the songs in that directory. So I either browse to and play each song for a second, or I simply reboot the phone. Rebooting works for me. Strangely, mounting and unmounting the SD card does not work (although that solution would require USBing anyway, even if it did). I've yet to find a more elegant solution, and I sort of wonder how the Amazon MP3 store app handles this, since I assume it must be a much smoother process. But I've yet to use it to buy anything.

tldr; Reboot the phone, or switch to Meridian and browse the new songs one by one. If this doesn't help, I don't know what's going on.

Well, the reset option don't work for me.

But the program worked a bit.. I have to open it, enter a folder and "refresh" it.. then, after that, the songs show up in the Music Player of the phone.. it still isn't very comfortable.. the Meridian often crash, don't recognize some songs, and make the phone unestable.. but at least work!

So.. really thx! now I can see most of the songs I uploaded, I'll still be searching for a better solution, it shouldn't be so rare..

Any news I will post them!

Cheers!

Edit: Maybe.. it'll be better to use the Motorola Media Link soft to add songs.. I tried it but it's still the same, the program did recognize all the songs, etc.. but they are still missing on the phone , will try harder tomorrow

Well.. finally I could make it work
Really don't know what was causing it, but what I have to do in case same one need it, was:

1) Delete all the folder with music
2) Unplug the phone, open the music player and let it search (is will not found anything)
3) Plug the phone, create a folder with a different name as the previous one
4) Before copying all the music, make sure it's is correctly tagged in ID3 v2.3
5) Copy ALL the music into that folder, without using subfolders
6) Unplug, open player, let it search, enjoy

Hope this not happen again.. because I don't know any reason.

Cheers, and thx for the help!
