music phone w/ some sort of battery managment?

before the iphone details were released, one of the rumors which i thought was a fantastic idea was the phone would have 2 batteries, one that would be in reserve ONLY for phone calls (and texting i guess) if the first one ran out. like using it for listening to too much music or web.

so what im looking for is a phone that is a good mp3 player and has some sort of system (2 batteries, battery managment of some sort. make sense?) so that i can use my phone to listen to music and not worry that my battery is dieing for when i need to use it as a phone.

open to any phone that'll work with any us carrier avail in the NYC metro area. even phones not out yet, im not loking to get a new phone til teh summer atleast.

I don't know of any phones with a battery management system, but some Samsung phones will lock certain features when the battery is low. My T809 would disable the camera, bluetooth, mp3 and video players, basically anything that would drain the battery.

Most people hated it btw....

To be honest, just make sure you check your battery meter. If you're running low, turn the music off. That or buy a car charger/extra charger for work to make sure you can juice up whenever you want
