Music for my Jazz dance?

Our jazz teacher asked us to take a few songs with us. Her specifications were - upbeat, not something you'd hear way too much on the radio, nothing that will get old by June.
I can't think of anything that fits those specifications. Any ideas?
:O I wonder what this is doing in R&B and soul =S
