Music Club

I guess the 100 post limit, is for the suggestions. We should at least know the person is not some kind of spammer just wanting to pass an ad for an album ... tho having a personal album to share is not a bad idea, but let's not encourage spammers.

I was kind of scared of the "randomly picks" part, cause a lot of suggestions will be continuously ignored, and that can be bothering.

So we have now 2 suggestions:
_either in order of recommendations.
_either we randomly pick out of a certain nuraber of albums.

You have a point with the random picking... can be very interesting, specially that no one can have any idea of the album of the week/fortnight.

:D yeah. Will check if there are other suggestions like that in the thread later, it's time to carve the Christmas turkey.
See you all later.

I though we'd let some of the "underrated" or unknown albums to get on the list, so with voted favourites not much of those get on the list.
Now, I'm keeping all the once suggested albums on my original list, in case we decided to modify or change anything. And that idea does seem very interesting, maybe we can use it in some way...

I see a meeting for the Music Club creators in the near future ...

I'm happy you liked it. It surely neeRAB more than one listen, I never can keep a clear head to concentrate on all the tracks.

I'm glad you mentioned Follow, as there's another version of that same song, by Soap Kills, (as Zeid Hamdan is the leader of both banRAB). I think the lyrics are more audible in that version:

I'll try to search for the CD sleeve, as it may contain the lyrics.

No, the simple fact is there are already a ton of albums that have been uploaded. You could all stay busy for years between journals and the rab most wanted thread.

If you guys wanted an album that you're guaranteed to like then make you're own personal music club where you sit around and listen to all your favorite albums and talk to yourself.

^ Yeah that's pretty spot on. I actually tried to listen to this again couple days back, but failed to get all the way through. By the time I got to the title track, I could imagine them telling each other, "This is the most epic song of all time!" It's just trying so hard at that point, but I just wasn't feeling it.

I actually read that the choir parts were put in for their fans, so they would know what part to sing at their concerts. Kinda a cool idea...but if they care at all about what rab'rs have to say, then I think it's safe to say it backfired on them. >

It's true that the track is definitely not representative of their overall style (it would be hard to pick one that is, though) but I wouldn't say it's the only song in that style that they've done, either. You just can't say, "hey check out this song, you might like the band", that's for sure. It is lovely, I don't think being your favorite really means anything. It could be that you don't enjoy the humor as much, or that you just really like it because it's beautiful.

The next round album will be decided in 12 hours.

If anyone wants to suggest albums, it's now the time, as we don't have many suggestions for this week.
And if anyone still haven't reviewed The New Government Strikes album, there's still time for that too.

BUMPING THIS THREAD.
Please enter some suggestions, we're going to give it another week, because no one sent us anything.
Also, please review Conan's album.
He's important.
Thanks. [=

Yes, that is perfectly fine, but I'd love it if you sent an album suggestion to me, nurabernine, or awwsugar before Sunday. I'm sure you'd pick a good one.

Ok, so I just listened to This Is War. It went pretty much as I thought it would, unfortunately. This is definitely an album that someone who is just getting into music may like and find substance in...but for me I've heard it all before.

That and it just bothers me how arrogant I find Jared Leto to be.

To be more specific, I don't think Jared Leto really knows what he is doing. He said this album was more electronic...I'm sorry tossing in a few synth lines behind the usual wall of power chorRAB does not make your album electronic. Every song goes about the same way. Loud/quiet parts sometimes with some synth sometimes with some guitar building up to a big loud "emotional" part where a lot of people sing at once. Getting more singers in on the action does not make something more emotional in my opinion. It just shows how you don't know how to evoke emotion in a song by yourself.

I have to give Jared something, though. He does sing with passion.

I decided to refrain from submitting a suggestion to strengthen the chance that the pick would be something I haven't heard. Oh well, at least it's an album I enjoy. :D

By the way, the album is actually 'Reject All American' not 'America'.
