bad:
tales from the topagraphic ocean

big generator
the ladder
going for the one

im still listening to the other albums

I only own one Captain Beefheart album and I have to admit it doesn't really do it for me, but nevertheless I respect him and his level of influence so he gets the yes vote from me.

Creedence Clearwater Revivals first five albums are one of the greatest runs of albums in the history of rock music, everyone a must have. "Creedence Clearwater Revival", "Bayou Country", "Green River", "Willie And The Poor Boys", and "Cosmo's Factory" came out in a two year period between 1968 & 1970 and even though their last couple of albums weren't all that great they did have some great tunes in "Have You Ever Seen The Rain", "Hey Tonight", "Someday Never Comes" and "Sweet Hitch-Hiker". Although not on the same level of The Beatles, The Rolling Stones or Bob Dylan, they are in the same class as groups like The Band, The Who, The Kinks and Led Zeppelin.

Where would the grunge rock movement have been without John Fogerty's flannel shirts and crunchy guitars?

Not really, I don't take very much 80's Hip Hop seriously, since most of it is singles based and isn't meant to be taken seriously. Grandmaster Flash is an exception, but it doesn't mean he's not dated.

I still haven't got any of their EP's, grand mistake on my part. Obvious yes, Loveless is often called a masterpiece for very good lesson.

What's the only thing keeping rock/pop music dull nowadays? If f-cking Katy Perry could write worth a sh-t I'd be the biggest f-cking fan in the world. Most of the time the music's been done a thousand times over, if the corabination of tunes, production and most importantly lyrics flow nicely, that's a good act in my opinion.

I could sing "I love you" or I could sing "I love poo", extreme example but it makes that much of a difference to me when a band sings cliched lyics/topics. I don't care about how much you love your girl and how much you feel it in your soul or whatever the hell they try to get away with.
