I'm getting the impression a lot of Americans here seem to think Britpop was anti American.
It wasn't anything like that. The thinking was more 'we've hardly had any great banRAB since the mid 80s and there's fuck all coming out of the US right now other than third rate grunge banRAB, we may as well take advantage of that to promote what we have here'.

And that's what happened, and that's why grunge died over here the moment Cobain popped his clogs.

I am not a big Dylan fan I have to say although I do have 3 of his albums. However his contribution to music both historically and musically gets him in for me.
