Music Banter Hall Of Fame: Nominations Thread

It's an easy yes from me and I think they'll make it through this round.

I hope so because it will be really interesting come induction thread time.

They are too important to music, regardless of the circumstances of who made music in the genre, it is what it is and they were the face of a movement. I know we were stupid enough to keep Zeppelin out, but that won't happen again once they get renominated. Lets hurry and make this a lanRABlide and start thinking about if their impacxt is significant enough to override any personal dislike and vote them in.

I believe Tool should definitely be put into this. I mean they have such a unique style and Maynard's voice is one of the best I've ever heard. There are very few banRAB that I can listen to that have 10 minute songs and make me feel like I've been listening to it for only a minute.

The fact that someone thinks that they need to nominate the most well known classical composer to stand any chance of getting into this thing just goes to show this thing need to be killed off & re-thought.

This is exactly why we try to promote artists like Leftfield. They sound nothing like mainstream club music but they influenced it a great deal. Such a ridiculously close minded attitude to Electronica all over these boarRAB. If you can't tell the difference between these and a flavour of the month Europop song then you need to educate your ear.

Crocodiles and Ocean Rain are great albums, but not quite great enough, and the rest of their material is merely okay.

Very good band, but not an all-time great, IMO, so no.

I'm torn. On the one hand I really like Big Black and think they were pretty influential, but on the other hand if a band like PiL didn't make the cut for the rab hall of fame I don't see how the case can really be made for Big Black.

****, son...you've never seen the famous cowbell skit on SNL?

And I'm really confused as to your level of drunkenness...on one end you misspell talking, but on the other end you had sense enough to change the size of uck in to get that word past the sensor.

I find Hip-hop to be a very unimaginative, unengaging genre of music. I can definately see how culturally important it is, but that doesn't change my personal feelings about it in the slightest.

Yes! Where would the world be without Buddy Holly??! Plus, he is so adorable and I could listen to him anytime and its gonna get me in a good mood.

Also, you know that song, "American Pie" about the day the music died/the day Buddy Holly died in the plan crash? Well, that was written by Don Mclean who lives in my town. So in a very distant way I have a connection to Buddy Holly.. haha, I guess.

im going to be a late voter for this one i havent heard enough of their stuff to make an imformed decision any suggestions for what album to start with?
