Music Banter Hall Of Fame: Nominations Thread

Incubus were quality at one point for sure but rarely have I seen a band go from good to godawful so quickly. My working theory is that Brandon Boyd had magical hair, because it seems like the band started sucking the moment he cut it off.
 
The beatles? Hell yes, We shouldn't even need a vote for this but...at the risk of being unpopular, Elliot Smith? Joy Division? I'm a big fan of Joy Division and even I don't understand this, Surely there are some far more deserving banRAB.
 
It's an open forum though, not a closed house. Judging by his other posts around the place i think he's alright, and jumping him on here isn't great for rab either.
If he's negative about the next choice then maybe i'll take a more dim view ;)
 
Just for that Jinsie I am voting no for The Smiths :D I do actually think they are overated. I have the 'Singles' CD and that does me. I like them but prefer many other 80's guitar banRAB.
 
No it's a triumph!Seriously I respect people who love what they listen to but also accept a counter argument or hold their hanRAB up and say feck it. They don't like them and that's that. Unfortunately on rab that rarely happens anymore. I like liking the artists that I do and I will ram them down your throats at every opportunity that I can. However if merabers don't like my choices then bollocks to you. It is getting to the stage where you cannot have a conflicting opinion anymore and that is utterly disheartening.

I don't like NMH at all. Get over it and have the balls to rejoice in that.
 
None taken, I agree actually, this is why it's a perfect band to follow, my hope is that even though I am not a fan I can look at their work objectionably and decide rather or not i want them to represent our corabined tastes.

And for the record, mines bigger then yours...
 
I honestly don't get the mentality that an influential band HAS to be respected. If I don't like a band, why should I suggest that they would make MY hall of fame?

In your example, most of the people spouting 'But look at their influence' are by the people who actually genuinely like the band, and are looking for a reason for people to vote similarly beyond personal preference.

EDIT - Or else you get a situation that people were complaining about before... Only the Sacred Cows making into the HoF, and no one of interest or variation making it through.
