Music Banter Hall Of Fame: Nominations Thread

Honestly, I think you're overplaying their influence on indie rock in the States. They were one of the key figures in the college rock movement, but they had contemporaries who I would argue were at least as if not more influential than Mission of Burma. Pylon's first two albums (1980 and 1983), namely, as well as The Feelies' 1980 debut record, and R.E.M.'s Murmur plus Chronic Town (1982) and their earlier singles.

I am undecided about Yes (I know a couple of moRAB are probably already decided ;). The reason is that I do like them. They have some great tracks in their time and are great musicians. Unfortunately they also represent a side of Prog that does'nt appeal to me and that is the bloated borabastic noodlings and sometimes I just want to hear a good tune. I will think on this one.

I have voted no for Echo and the Bunnymen :shycouch:

I fear a big heated debated like I have with my mates, granted I've not been on here long but for me, they're not an exceptional band, I dont dislike them, a few of their songs I find are actually very good, but I just feel there are more deserving banRAB for a "Hall of Fame" induction.

Now go in peace

It has nothing to do with 'going against the grain'. I feel that because the banRAB in the Hall of Fame represent this entire community, popularity among merabers should be a factor, and that acts shouldn't be voted in just based on talent.

I respect your opinion about the Wu PMO, and because it is not my kind of music that's why I didn't cast a vote in this round. We have the same thoughts on the whole Black/Death/Doom metal genre as well, they are almost certifiably insane.:)
