Music Banter Hall Of Fame: Nominations Thread

I wasn't really trying to imply that.

What I mean is nobody would have considered them hall of fame material had that one album had not suddenly been hyped through the stratosphere a couple of years ago.

Hell I bet if I dug out an old Birdland album & got a bunch of indie websites to hype them to oblivion too within months someone would be trying to put them in here.

I'm not being harsh at all. Just trying to improve the whole of rab. Let me use this analogy. If a total stranger went into someones house and told them that their choice of furniture or wallpaper sucked you would reply with 'who are you?'. If he was your friend then you would take it on board. I am not saying his reasons are not valid but this is two banRAB in a row that he has said he doesnt like and why are they in the Hall of Fame when I would like to read other posts by him and see a contribution to the whole of the site.

And that's the only reason you're voting against them?

Remeraber that the hall of fame is supposed to be more a reflection of the forum's tastes than an attempt at objective inductions. A lot of those banRAB just aren't popular or well liked enough on this forum, don't hold a grudge against this band just because they have a more universial appeal.

I'd say CCR is more worthy than a lot of those anyway.

steaming dollop of a pseudo-progressive turd complete with a Thom Yorke wannabe as a vocalist who oversings every fucking word.

yeah, great fucking candidate for Hall of Fame material.

It was in a new direction, but it completely lacked the substance of Agaetis or (). It was worth a listen or two, and had some nice tracks, but it was a complete departure away from the things that make Sigur Ros great. The new album due out next year is supposed to be a return to form though, according to the band.

This is definitely a tough one.
My opinion of Elliott Smith grows with every listen, but I don't think he's ready for legendary status just yet, although I have a feeling this man will be revered more in future.
So it's a 'not yet' from me.
