Music Banter Hall Of Fame: Nominations Thread

Finally, somebody nominated him.

...wait. What's that he's wearing?

Ouch, I can only imagine what that would have done to their egos... Until I investigated them more, ie, after I heard and bought The Great Escape, I actually thought Blur was some sort of deconstructionalist boy band... until I knew better of course.... but they wedre featured in my sisters mags, so what else could I think at the time?

I don't know what principle I should be voting by.

If by "do I like them" then that's a definite hell yeah.

But if by "do I think they have made as many important contributions as the other inductees" then obviously not.

Can't vote just yet.

Green River, Willy and The Poor Boys and Cosmo's Factory are excellent albums overall so definitely.

I don't think that's fair. Anyone who votes should make an honest choice, and not vote just to move things along, I consider that cheating and counterproductive to the whole purpose of the hall of fame.

Either way, I'm still very bitter about the voting system because I think Yes would have had a chance if it weren't for all the emo/hardcore scenester durabasses who started an account, made 5 posts, voted "No" and never showed their f*cking face on this forum ever again.

That isn't the case at all, if 'some people' liked the nominated artist at hand obviously the majority would outvote and thus be rejected. I don't even see your point, the thread is for artists people on rab like and regard in high esteem. If nobody feels that way about any artist which has been nominated the artist wouldn't get in, your jibe is nonsensical and it's been counter argued a page or so back; and what does artists like elliott smith even refer to? Anything slightly obscure with talent... sardonic to say the least.

Loveless was on of the 3 albums that turned me on to underground music, and until recently (probably after 500+ listens) was one of the only albums I never would tire from.

YES

And that album before Loveless is decent too...

People are going to defend banRAB that they feel should be in, so you can't fault them for that... not all of us have the level-headedness of Urban. I'd bet you would call people out if Pink Floyd was in danger of not making it.

Also, people are way too image conscious when it comes to NMH.

 fudge yeah! I mean just look at them. And then listen to the sound that came out of their skinny whiteboy bodies. I f*cking love the lyrics too. Big yes from me, even though I only have the one album. L Dopa awrite??
