Despite my best efforts to get into this band I simply do not see the appeal to them whatsoever. I don't have a problem with the chimerical and otherwise wacky, the Residents seem to defy any sort of generalization for the very sake of being unpredictable. Or maybe it's just over my head. Whichever is true I doubt I'll "get" them any time soon.

I don't have enough Waits to be able to say yes. Rain Dogs is a great album, never heard anything I disliked (except the debut maybe), just never fully clicked. Same with Nick Cave. Everything these guys put out is assumed to have so much gravitas and intellectual weight to it the whole thing just scares me away. Although Waits maybe has more of a sense of humour about himself

It wasn't a transition album
It's virtually identical to Parklife but longer & with weaker songs, Did you even read the post where I said why I didn't like it or did you just assume like you usually do.
