Music Banter Hall Of Fame: Nominations Thread

Love Fungus Amongus and S.C.I.E.N.C.E.! :yeah:

Maybe Mother's Milk RHCP, but Incubus had a heavier, more metal-influenced sound. It was more like they were trying to corabine RHCP, Mr. Bungle, and Primus all into one band... ;)

Nah, Dollar were much better

On who? Funnily enough folk music has been self sustainable on both sides of the Atlantic before and since NMH. Now i know they have built up a big fanbase over the last few years and that is to be applauded if not utterly perplexing. However this is a hall of fame thread and I have rarely heard this banRAB name being held up as a shining beacon of influence and/or innovation. John Martyn doe folk 100X better IMO but I would never make a case for him as he is just damn good at what he does and has never set the world on fire.

This is what many merabers are trying to say. It's not merely the fact that they do or dont like their music. It's a case of sustained brilliance, innovation or influence. Hell, The Residents beat many here hanRAB down for that.

P.I.L did'nt make it in. Even though they are influential and virtually created a whole sub genre, Urban did'nt bleat when they did'nt get in. I actually voted no for them too as I'm not a huge fan. NMH may be very good at what they do. Unfortunately what they do is not exactly what set's the musical world on fire.

Well they're more popular for sure, but I don't think they are more worthy than Yes. Since Yes was a lost cause, getting KC in should be the next priority for us proggies.

I know where my vote's going :D

Anyone wanting album links to help you decide, both Leftism and Rhythm and Stealth are on my mediafire page, so give us a shout if you do.

I'm mixed on this.

On one hand he influenced shitload of stuff I like, but on the other I hardly ever feel the need to actually listen to him.

It's all very well saying he influenced loaRAB of stuff I like , but if I prefer what those other banRAB did with it rather than what Beefheart did with it, well it doesn't really say much about him.

I'll come back to this one.

No 500 is a lot more reasonable.

It dosen't take long for a guy to get 100 posts, theres a lot of guys who get that far and stops posting, if you make it to at least 500 you're probably gonna stick around.

I think 500 is the point when you can be considered a regular.

But we have more no votes from regulars so it dosen't even matter anymore.

I have a special feeling that whoever the next nominee is will win, and it will be someone I dispise, so thats all the more reason not to take this so seriously. The more ya'll hipsters infuriate me the more thankful I should be for being different.

And I think it's the fact that people are so different here that draws me in, I barely post on progarchives forum, even though there Yes are worshiped like the goRAB they are, and thats no fun. I need an excuse to bicker.
