Music Banter Hall Of Fame: Nominations Thread

Abso-bloody-lutely.

I'm yet to truly get into them, but Animals is one of my favourite albums (Dogs being quite possibly one of the best tunes of all time), Piper At the Gates Of Dawn and Dark Side Of the Moon are sheer class as well.

You've pretty much summed up how i feel. As much as i love Belle and Sebastian i don't think they've made enough impact on music to be worthy of a place in the Hall Of Fame just yet. I'm gonna sit on the fence for this one.

lol that's awesome.

Maybe the "yes" should reach a certain percentage. Like say a group gets 17 "yes" votes vs. 13 "no" that 56.6%. Out of 30 votes, even though it's a four vote difference and it can be said they won by a majority, it isn't a very unaniamous decision to the other 14 voters. Shouldn't a reasonable percentage of the votes be the goal to reach for the artist to be accepted in the HoF? At least just for "safe" artist, then drop it for the unsafe or not-so-popular artist.

That's a good point, I was speaking in terms of why I don't love them. Have to say, (as I continue to listen to all their music I own) "They Walk in Line" is a really catchy song and I like it a lot more then I remerabered.

The toughest one for me so far. Selfishly I'd say yes, but looking at other banRAB that have been excluded makes me go back and forth. I'm thinking yes for now and I'll reevaluate when the hall of fame induction voting comes around.

I voted no because I've never really interested in Buddy Holly and what he has done. I used to try to look at artists objectively in this but then I had an argument with somebody many pages back who said that the rab Hall of Fame should be based on personal attitude towarRAB the musician. So personally, I've just never been into Buddy Holly!

I say yes simply because their songs made such an impression on me that I can recite too many of them word for word and I haven't listened to a beastie boy album in years.

I've just never liked Mars Volta much. It bores me. Alot of my frienRAB dig them, but I prefer ATDI, and even them I wouldn't consider for a hall of fame.

Dont like them enough
they're not iconic enough
they influenced ever ****ty hardcore band i have to sit through at gigs
The mars volta are better
didnt stick around long enough

so a no

It's likely he just never got around to it in time. My Nirvana and John Zorn noms and write ups took months to get up because of the volume of nominations. So good luck with it nonsubmissivewife, haha.
