Music Banter Hall Of Fame: Nominations Thread

Well I just dont feel the need to vote yes just because 13 others have. I mean christ, Hendrix isnt even inducted yet and Tom Waits is about to be? To me thats a joke. What about Robin Trower, Bevis Brond, Grateful Dead... There are so many ahead of Tom Waits.

A HUGE yes from me. I grew up listening to the RHCP and they hold a special place in my heart. They have influenced me greatly, musically speaking. I'm not really a huge fan of Anthony Kiedis like others have also stated, but I'm absolutely in love with Flea and am also big fan of John Frusciante. Anyway, I love RHCP so it's a big yes.

And fun fact, Flea was born in the same hospital that I was :D haha.

So maybe I was making an over generalization. Oasis is just such a big act in the movement I suppose I just sort of got the wrong impression. And don't think I don't listen to any of this music, I quite like it.

So anyhow, Yes because they made good music. Plain and simple.

The only thing rap has going for it is lyrics. It doesn't take much talent at all to come up with a clapping/base beat, which is what alot of rap is made up of, so there isn't much song writing talent involved. And hardly any of them ever play instruments, which is probably even lamer. So basically, the only redeeming quality I can theoretically see coming from rap music would be the lyrics, and sadly, a large percentage of rap music has the same old generic lyrics such as "I'm a playa, I get bitches, ect, ect, ect..." Now don't think that I'm including PE in this, for I'm sure that they MUST be more insightful than the rest to get so much praise.

I got four albums by him but haven't really listened to more than a few tracks. Should probably get to it.
