Multigenerational Flushing

Okay, this is weird but I don't know if I should waste my time and the copay to visit the family doctor so I am hoping that ya'll can help me out. My daughters are ages 10 and 8, I am 37 and my aunt is in her fifties. Every since I can remember I have been having hot flashes, even as a small child I would have these episodes. My family thought it was Lupus but the doctors said no.

The very odd thing is that if my daughters, my aunt and I are all in the same room and one of us begins flushing - you can be guaranteed that we all will have hot flushed faces - no sweat on both sides. I don't understand it. I can be working on my computer and feel a hot flash coming on - I will then holler at the girls to come down and sure enough they are flushed as well. I thought at first that this was a situational thing - like we breathed something weird but this happens at school, at my parents house, when shopping, overseas.

Is there any chance that some one out there has heard of some kind of thing where people can flush at the same time without eating the same thing in different geographical locations? ( i don't mean i would flush overseas and they would flush here - we were all overseas together)

Hi, Christina . . . I have never had the flushing thing happen but have felt the pain of others close to me at the time they were feeling it even when we were in different locations.

Example, our best friends were heading out of state and I was at the computer. I started experiencing chest pain and left arm pain that about took my breath away. I noted the time on the clock because it was also a sensation that this was not really happening to me. A couple of hours later, I got a call from the wife that her husband had suffered a heart attack and was in the hospital. The time? When I was feeling it.

I have had this experience with our daughter-in-law who lives in another state having a miscarriage, our youngest daughter who lived 100 miles away at the time going to the emergency room for abdominal pains, and many other times.

I believe some of us are empathic and can sense what others are going through. Not sure if this is your situation but I cannot off hand think of how you could all be flushing at the same time.

Let me know if you find out for sure what yours is as I am extremely curious to know.
