Multi Switch question

My point exactly.

All I am saying is that anyone using this equipment needs to be made fully aware of the possibilities.

As "i hate tv" said, it can add up to quite an investment as well, running additional lengths of RG6 just has to be cheaper. I will NEVER believe that its impossible to do this, inconvenient, yes but impossible, no.

I use Dish Pro hardware (DP Twin LNB) and only needed to run two cables to a DP34 multi-switch. No need for the Power Inserter. Can expand to three DP34 multi-switch for a total of 12 outputs. Simple and expandable even if a third satellite is established. Less cabling outside.

I would advise any "novice" to avoid using Non-Supported Hardware for Bell Installations. Yes it does make life simpler for now but remember there is no guarantee that the next round of software updates will still support this technology that is not licensed as yet by Express Vu.

If you have easy access to the LNB's, switch's etc fine, go ahead and use Dish Pro or Dish Pro Plus but be ready to re-install all the old Legacy stuff if Express Vu change the software.

Also, note that using Dish Pro or DishPro Plus will void warranty on any receivers. There is also a procedure that MUST be followed if re-installing Legacy LNB's and switches otherwise you will fry them.

I am don saying Don't use this option, I am saying that you need all the facts BEFORE going down this road.

I thought I should go up to the roof to see what I was up against to bring two more lines down from the new receiver that Bell hooked up for me a month ago when I ordered my 6100. I see that it looks like 3 lines are coming from the Dual LNB and then 2 of those lines are combined together and then 2 lines run from there to my control panel. I assume that the 6100 needs a feed from each satelite and therefore those two lines are joined together. What is this 2 to 1 joiner and does this solve my problem of having to run more lines from my dish to the proposed sw44 multi switch.

Thanks

Sounds like the Installer was lazy. You should have 2 lines from EACH LNBF.

Then you should see one from each connected to the SW21 (2 to 1 joiner). From the resulting output a single receiver can be fed.

If you are wanting 3 or 4 receivers that ALL have access to all sat signals from both Birds then you still need an SW44, this switch requires 2 feeds from EACH LNBF to work. It can be located outside at the Dish if you like.

How is this possible if a dual LNB only had two conectors, what is the thrid connected to?
